A Powerful Oracle Cloud VPS Server – How to Create a Windows VPS on Oracle Cloud

How to Create a Windows VPS on Oracle Cloud:

  1. Sign Up for Oracle Cloud:

If you haven't already, sign up for an Oracle Cloud account.

Create a Virtual Machine Instance:

  1. Log in to your Oracle Cloud account and navigate to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Console.
  2. Click on "Create a VM instance" and choose the "Windows" image from the available images.
  3. Configure the instance details, including the number of CPUs and RAM, following the specifications you mentioned (4 CPUs and 24 GB of RAM).

Network Configuration:

01 Compute >>
02 Instances >>
03 Instance details >>
04 Under Primary vcn >>> Subnet>>
06 Under Security Lists >>Add Security Lists >> Default Security List for vcn
06 Under Ingress Rules >> Add Ingress Rules

Set up your networking configurations, including VCN (Virtual Cloud Network), security lists, and routing. Ensure that the necessary ports (e.g., RDP port 3389) are open.

Storage Configuration:

Configure the storage options for your VM, including boot volume size and any additional storage needs.

Launch the Instance:

Once configured, launch the VM instance.

How to Connect to Your Windows VPS Using RDP:

Get Your Public IP Address:

In the Oracle Cloud Console, find your VM instance and note down its public IP address.

Configure Security Rules:

In your Oracle Cloud Network Security Group, allow inbound traffic on port 3389 (RDP) from your IP address.

Connect Using Remote Desktop:

  1. On your local machine, open the Remote Desktop Connection application (search for "Remote Desktop Connection" in the Start menu on Windows).
  2. Enter the public IP address of your Oracle Cloud VM in the Remote Desktop Connection window.
  3. When prompted, enter your Windows VM credentials.

Important Security Considerations:

  1. Always secure your server: Regularly update your Windows VM, install security patches, and use strong, unique passwords.
  2. Network Security: Limit access to essential ports. Use firewalls and security groups to control traffic.
  3. Regular Backups: If you are storing important data, make regular backups to prevent data loss.
  4. Remember, setting up and maintaining a server requires a good understanding of system administration and security practices. Always ensure you are following best practices to keep your server and data secure.

A Powerful Oracle Cloud VPS Server – Always Free

If you need a strong server but don't want to pay for it, Oracle Cloud is the way to go! It is always available for free.

I've experimented with numerous cloud computing platforms over the years, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Despite the fact that they provide free alternatives, their always free offer has certain limitations: low-spec VM and higher-tier units may only be utilized for free for a short period or until your credit runs out. Furthermore, the expense of follow-up is substantial.

I just got the opportunity to test Oracle cloud and discovered that their "Always Free" VPS is incredibly powerful, with 4 CPUs and 24 GB of RAM. Furthermore, it is completely free!

What are you going to do with it?

  1. NodeJS with Express Application
  2. Host WordPress Website with Hestia

  4. the Docker application.
  5. Host Your Own Jupyter Notebook
  6. Run Trading Bot and let it produce money for you,
